11th November 2017: workshop "Active learning by active games" at Chea Sum University of Kamchaymear, Campus Kampong Cham

Yesterday I travelled from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham.  A peaceful and quite city at the Mekong River.

Nice view along the river in Kampong Cham

After breakfast and printing some documents with learning aid materials, a student took me to some nice temples in the neighbourhood of Kampong Cham.

Cutting the cards for playing scrabble

At 2 o’clock my workshop “Active leaning by active games” starts.  After a speech of vice rector Mr. Sambo, 70 students listen to the theoretical background. In the beginning they are a little bit afraid of the interactive way of teaching but very soon they understand my way of teaching.  A teacher of English translates. Also other teachers are helping me with the organisation of the games in the classroom.

I feel that a lot of students are happy and know what I mean with “Active learning by active games”. It is very interesting to teach at the students.
After the workshop every student receives a certificate of attendance.  We takes a lot of pictures for good memories.

You were great! Thank you for your attendance and participation!
All the participants receive a certificate

Before I left to Prey Veng, with the deputy director of the other campus of the university, Mr. Sambo (vice rector) got a birthday cake for tomorrow.  A real party starts.  And I couldn’t escape to the tradition to put the whipped cream on the face.
Everybody is excited.  Happy Birthday for Mr. Sambo, the Vice Rector!

Thank you Mr. Sambo, Mr. Chin Pisith, teachers,...for the printing, organisation, accommodation, food,… Great hospitality!
